The statistical report reviews the data and details of the investment operations conducted by KDIPA during the fiscal year 2023-2024 from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024, as stipulated in Article 9 of Law No. 116 of 2013: "The Director General shall prepare an annual statistic on the activity of the Authority in terms of the number of projects submitted to it, the projects that were approved, and the projects that were rejected with the reasons for rejection and submit it to the Council of Ministers. He also provides an update on the provisions of Article 30 of Law No. 116 of 2013 to set up an investment registry at the authority in which licensed investment entities, and all applications, licenses, benefits, exemptions, and penalties associated with them will be recorded, and all documents will be attached to the registry

Highlights

  • KDIPA was awarded the position of Vice President of the World Association of Investment Promotion Authorities (WAIPA) Steering Committee for the period (2023-2025).
  • Signing a memorandum of understanding with the Chinese Ministry of Commerce in the field of free zones and economic zones.
  • Signing a memorandum of understanding with the Central Bank of Kuwait on defining coordination frameworks.
  • 318 Training programs to develop the skills and capacities of professionals.
  • Organizing 6 promotional events and participating in 14 different events to introduce the investment climate and economic developments.

Sustainability

Strategy

KDIPA's Interim Strategy for the transition period (2023-2025) received a 100% rating among 51 government entities that were evaluated as part of the “Government Strategies in line with Development Goals” study.

Strengthening Cybersecurity

KDIPA obtains ISO certification ISO 27001:2022 for managing and protecting information security.

Governance application

  • Strengthening the institutional framework and continuing to improve the competencies and responsibilities of the concerned administrative units.
  • Passing the bronze stage of the “Adaa” (perform) project organized by the Public Authority for Combating Corruption (Nazaha) to activate the Code of Conduct for the public and private sector.
